Once Upon a Time and Place: Story Maps of Climate Change

The project sets out to engage young people with climate change research. Using ArcGIS Story Maps, a platform for creating spatial stories using mapping tools, images and text, the project invites students to create Story Maps, to document their feelings on, concerns about or activities related to climate change.

For an example of a Story Map see Climate Change: A Poem Map. This project is part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council ‘s initiative Engaging Young People with Climate Research.

The initiative has been developed to coincide with the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) summit which took place in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November 2021.

The project was delivered with colleagues from the Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment at Kingston University London, along with Kingston University Student Ambassadors.
